Our house is constructed as a traditional Indonesian Borneo longhouse and is located right on the beach. We started building the house in 2008 but always seem to find new projects so it will probably never be fully finished.
Our main source of material is wood and bamboo since it has a high strength to weight ratio and reproduces extremely fast. All the bamboo we used to build the camp has regrown many times over.
The longhouse is designed to give a warm feeling of being home and spend time together with your friends.
Our guests stay in spacious rooms equipped with big beds, mosquito nets and fans. A WC and a shower is connected to each room, which accommodates 4 guests. We also have a twin room and two double rooms which can be booked upon request. For those who wants more privacy we have two separate jungle houses available at an additional cost.
For couples and honeymooners we have two small private houses available at an additional cost: 250.000rp (20€) and 300.000rp (25€) extra per night. Or book a private villa next door at Bruces Hideout.
The terrace on the top deck has glorious views over the ocean, along with lots of space to relax with hammocks, sofas and mattresses. It is also connected to our unique treehouse, and is equipped with a projector for showing movies and for surf theory classes. It has a selection of board games, musical instruments, books etc..
Kitchen & Cafe
The kitchen and bar/lounge has a banqueting table suited for our communal meals which our local cook prepares. The menu is usually vegetarian with fresh fish or sometimes chicken. We also open for the public through our SKATE CAFE from which you can order additional meals such as roasted sourdough sandwiches, healthy juices and vegan cakes .
The yoga shala is for yoga and balance exercises, and workshops with a big open floor, filled with Swiss balance balls, yoga mats, and balance toys such as indo boards and light weights.
Our surf holidays are open to surfers of all abilities with easy waves ideal for beginners, and powerful breaks to challenge seasoned surfers. Our expert coaching team is experienced in coaching all levels, including first-time surfers. The price includes all meals (one restaurant visit excluded), accommodation, equipment, courses, yoga sessions, boat transport and free use of all our toys. With a “deliberate practice” approach to surf learning we offer you a unique opportunity to join a two week experience with detailed step by step guidance, individual smart goals and immediate informative feedback. Surfing is THE top priority but we also go on small adventures by car or boat to explore new places together. This could be things like organic farm visits, short mountain treks, waterfall swimming, fishing, snorkeling, cliff jumping or visiting local markets. We also play a very prestigious game of football with the local team every camp, so bring good shoes. Although there are plenty of activities offered there is always the option to just relax in the tree house with a book, rip the skate bowl, watch documentaries or simply engage in interesting conversations.
All the necessary equipment is included in your stay, just bring (see attachment) and we provide the rest. With over 40 surfboards to choose from we will help you find a board that is suitable for you. We also run a shaping bay where you can take part in designing a surfboard, custom made just for you.

Most people experience that surfing can be quite hard on the body, especially if you are a beginner. From experience we can see that yoga is a very effective complement to surfing as it helps both body and mind to relax and connect while giving your muscles a well needed stretch after a days of surfing. We include a variety of different yoga styles which is suitable for everyone and you don’t need any prior experience.
In addition to the courses listed on our website we also run a new flexible 3-day course (250€), if you dont feel like staying at or around the camp you can also stay elswhere and and join the courses during the day. HERE is our price list.
Lombok is by itself a unique travel destination with its magnificent nature and varying topography. In addition to surfing there is a lot of great trekking and diving around Lombok.
Lombok is situated five hours by boat, or 20 minutes by airplane east of Bali in Indonesia. In size Lombok is almost the same as Bali, and has varied nature with a huge volcano, rice paddies and long sand beaches.
A lot of people have heard of Lombok because of the Gilli islands which are a popular destination among backpackers for diving and partying. Southern Lombok is not as exploited, there is a saying that it resembles how Bali was 20 years ago.
The majority of the population in Lombok are muslims, but they are originally Sasak which is one of many unique tribes in the Indonesian archipelago. Today most of the Sasak speaks Indonesian and are both friendly and curious to learn about foreign cultures. In total there are about two and a half million people living on Lombok.
